The Man. City wonderkid talks about his first full season in English footy!

There has been loads of sick youngsters making waves in the Championship this season – one of those is Bersant Celina!

The Man. City player has been making waves during a loan spell at Ipswich, so we spoke to him about his plans to catch Pep’s eye!

HI BERSANT, HOW HAVE YOU FOUND THE CHAMPIONSHIP TO YOUTH FOOTBALL?

Bersant says: “It’s definitely much harder and a lot more physically demanding! It’s quite different to last year at Man. City in the youth team.”

DO YOU THINK THIS LOAN SPELL IS MAKING YOU A BETTER PLAYER?

Bersant says: “I think it’s already made me a better player! I’m doing things that I haven’t really done before, like defending. I think it’s helping me a lot!”

DID MICK MCCARTHY HAVE A SPECIFIC IMPACT ON YOU?

Bersant says: “He’s put trust in me and let me play. He told me how he wants me to play, and what he wants from me - I don’t think I am the kind of player that he’s used to, defensively, but I think I’ve managed to do well!”

HAVE YOU HAD MUCH CONTACT WITH PEP GUARDIOLA YET?

Bersant says: “I had pre-season with him and I spoke to him then. He tried to help me, and I’ve tried to do what he told me. Now I’ve been speaking to Man. City but not to him directly.”

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR NEXT SEASON AND BEYOND?

Bersant says: “The most important thing is just to keep improving. I don’t know where I will be next season, it doesn’t matter to me whether I play for Man. City or if I go on loan. As long as I keep improving, I think in the end I will get where I want to be.”

AND WHAT’S YOUR ULTIMATE FOOTY DREAM?

Bersant says: “The ultimate dream is to play in a top European team and be the best player, but I don’t want to talk about that now! I’ve always wanted to be the best, so now I’m just going to have to keep practicing.”

Ipswich's Bersant Celina was speaking to EA Sports, an official partner of the EFL. For more information, head to easports.com
