Germany's second-round hero Andre Schurrle speaks exclusively to motdmag.com

What's your favourite World Cup memory?

Andre says: “For me, the first World Cup I really noticed as a fan was in 2002 in South Korea and Japan. Germany did quite well to get to the final and I enjoyed watching Michael Ballack - one of my idols - in the quarter-finals, semi-finals. Hopefully we can do the same and reach the final, and then win it!”

Who is your tip to win in Brazil?

Andre says: “Oh, Germany! I think there are many teams who have a very good squad, very good players. It’s going to be quite hard but I hope that Germany can do it.”

Have you enjoyed your first season in English football?

Andre says: "Yes! It’s very good for me. I like it very much because you have these big matches every two or three weeks. That’s what I wanted. I wanted to play for one of the biggest teams in the world and have the opportunities to show what I can do on the biggest stage in the world."

Have you got used to our food?

Andre says: "English food? I can't eat beans in the morning. I tried, but it's not nice. Fish and Chips is OK, sometimes, after the match. London is international though, so I can get any food I want."

You could meet team-mate David Luiz in the semi-final - what's he like?

Andre says: "David Luiz is a crazy guy. He makes everybody laugh, makes jokes, he's a great guy. He's very important for the team, to give us all support."

What's your verdict on the England team?

Andre says: "You have many, many good players who are young. Jack Wilshere at Arsenal, Ross Barkley can play with both feet. They're young and motivated so the future is bright indeed. Like for Germany!"

AGUERO! Went goal crazy against Leicester – netted four times!

ADAM! Missed a last minute pen that would have netted Stoke valuable survival points!
