Robin Van Persie has stunned Arsenal by announcing that he won't be signing a new contract at the club!
The Gunners captain's record-breaking form and 30 Prem goals last season hauled the club up the league to a third-placed finish ahead of rivals Spurs.
But Van Persie, who signed for Arsenal in 2004, has said on his website that he won't be extending his stay at the Emirates beyond next year.
He said: "I've thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions.
"I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens. I have grown up and became a man during my time with Arsenal FC."
Arsenal have boosted their attack by signing German international Lukas Podolski and French league top scorer Olivier Giroud - but now, boss Arsene Wenger has to decide whether to sell RVP, or keep him for one more season and lose him on a free. Man. City are rumoured to have tabled a £22m bid.
