England may be out of Euro 2012, but there are loads of positives for fans to take from their campaign…
1 TEAM SPIRIT!
England squads have been divided in the past, but Roy’s boys gelled, often had a smile on their face, and played together as a real team.
2 SWEDISH HOODOO DESTROYED!
England had never beaten Sweden in a competitive match before Euro 2012! The 3-2 Group D win threw that terrible run out of the window.
3 TOP STOPPER!
Joe Hart has emerged as one of the best keepers in the world!
4 YOUNG TALENT!
England’s Euro 2012 squad had some top youngsters – such as Carroll, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott and Welbeck – who will be even better at the World Cup in two years. The Three Lions have loads more youngsters who are desperate to make the squad for the 2014 World Cup – such as Jack Wilshere, Kyle Walker and Chris Smalling.
5 ORGANISED DEFENCE!
England’s defence is solid – Italy couldn’t break it down in two hours of footy!
6 NEW NATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE!
Every other country that has won the World Cup or European Championship has had a national training centre – England will finally get theirs this summer when St. George's Park will be opened to find and develop the next Wayne Rooney!
7 CAPTAIN FANTASTIC!
Steven Gerrard has been one of the players of the tournament. He’s risen to the challenge of captaining the team and says he’s up for continuing his captaincy!
