2010 AWARDS!
20th June 2013
PREM PLAYER OF THE YEAR
SAMIR NASRI
Carlos Tevez, Florent Malouda and Gareth Bale have all had a great 2010, but Samir Nasri has gone from an ordinary midfielder to a twinkle-toed superstar. His wicked solo goal against Porto in March has been nominated by FIFA as one of the top ten goals of 2010!
MATCH OF THE YEAR
TOTTENHAM 3-1 INTER MILAN
Rafael van der Vaart, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko might’ve scored the goals, but Gareth Bale made the Champions League holders look like Tweenies on ice! This was the game that made the whole of Europe start taking Tottenham seriously.
INTERVIEWEE OF THE YEAR
JERMAIN DEFOE
The Tottenham and England striker is a legend. I phoned him up a couple of months ago for an interview and he was on top form – telling me what he’d do if he was a pigeon, his fear of spiders and what his name would be if he was a wrestler! Joker!
I WANT TO SEE MORE OF...
IAN HOLLOWAY
The Blackpool boss once said: “I love Blackpool. We're very similar. We both look better in the dark.” I hope the Tangerines stay up this year so we see more of 'Ollie.'
I WANT TO SEE LESS OF...
TEVEZ’S MOANING
Carlos Tevez is an amazing player, but he whinges too much for my liking. Put a snood in it, Carlos!
WEIRD MOMENT OF THE YEAR
ROONEY DRAMA
Alex Ferguson announced to the press in October that Wayne Rooney wanted to leave Man. United. A few days later the England striker changed his mind and signed a new five-year contract to stay at the club! Eh?
MOURINHO! The legendary manager is back at Chelsea!
SUAREZ! He said he wants to leave Liverpool!
